Dedicated Teaching Teams Committed to Your Child’s Success

Crafted for children aged 4 to 5 years, our Pre-K Program has been dedicated to preparing children for kindergarten since 1981.

Communication Channels:
We prioritize keeping you connected with your child’s educational journey. You will receive regular updates through various channels, including detailed progress reports, daily activity summaries, and milestone achievements. This consistent communication ensures that you are well-informed about your child’s experiences and development, allowing you to actively participate in their educational process. We also offer digital platforms and face-to-face meetings to discuss specific areas where your child may need additional support, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their growth.

Parent Involvement Opportunities:
We believe that your involvement is crucial in preparing your child for kindergarten. Our “Pre-Kindergarten Readiness Events” are designed to integrate you into the transition process, offering workshops, classroom visits, and interactive sessions that provide insights into your child’s readiness. These events allow you to engage with educators, explore the curriculum, and understand the skills your child is developing, ensuring they are confident and well-prepared as they move to the next stage of their education.

Feedback and Collaboration:
Your insights are invaluable to us, and we actively seek your feedback to refine our approach to your child’s education. Through regular communication, surveys, and collaborative meetings, we work together to tailor our teaching strategies to meet your child’s unique needs. This collaborative effort ensures that your child’s transition to kindergarten is as smooth as possible, with both academic and social-emotional development being fully supported.

Parent-Teacher Conferences:
Our bi-annual parent-teacher conferences, along with additional meetings upon request, provide an in-depth review of your child’s readiness for kindergarten. These conferences offer a holistic view of your child’s progress, focusing on academic achievements, social-emotional development, and any areas that may require additional support. By working together, we ensure that your child is fully prepared to face the challenges and embrace the opportunities of their upcoming educational journey.

Pre-Kindergarten Learning Environment

Our Pre-Kindergarten program is designed to immerse children in a stimulating environment where they can explore and make observations about the world around them. Research shows that a well-designed physical space significantly enhances learning by promoting engagement and supporting children’s cognitive and emotional development. We ensure that our environment is organized, inviting, and equipped with all necessary materials to meet the children’s needs, helping them become more productive and engaged.

Classroom Design

Our classrooms are thoughtfully arranged to support smooth transitions between learning centers, ensuring that children can easily move from one activity to another, fostering continuous engagement. The design includes distinct centers for dramatic play, literacy, science and technology/engineering, manipulatives, and art. Each center is rich in print, with letters, numbers, and words displayed prominently to build print awareness and prepare children for kindergarten. Organized spaces and visual schedules further support the development of executive functioning skills, helping children feel confident and secure in their learning environment.

Outdoor Exploration

Our Pre-Kindergarten program makes the most of our expansive 8-acre grounds, featuring both  large play structure and a smaller, reserved playground area tailored for this age group. These outdoor spaces are designed to combine fun with learning, effectively bringing the classroom outdoors. Children explore natural habitats, observe organisms in their environments, and participate in planting projects, all while enjoying the physical activity and fresh air. These experiences enhance their connection to nature and reinforce the concepts learned indoors.

Indoor Gross Motor

Weather doesn’t limit our focus on physical activity. Teachers can bring gross motor activities indoors or utilize our on-site gym, which is equipped with climbing structures, balance beams, and soft mats. These facilities ensure that children continue to develop their coordination, strength, and balance regardless of weather conditions.

Emotional and Individualized Support

We create a low-risk, non-judgmental environment where Pre-K children feel comfortable expressing their ideas and exploring new concepts. Our approach to emotional and individualized support helps children navigate their feelings and interactions, fostering a classroom culture where every child feels valued and understood.

For our Pre-Kindergarten students, health and safety practices are designed to support their growing independence while maintaining a secure environment. We continue to emphasize cleanliness and hygiene, with an age-appropriate focus on self-care skills like handwashing and personal hygiene. Our facilities are regularly sanitized, and children are encouraged to take an active role in keeping their space tidy.

Safety drills are conducted regularly, with children learning more about emergency procedures in a way that empowers them without causing fear. Our staff, trained in first aid and CPR, ensures that any minor incidents are handled with care and professionalism. Nutrition remains a priority, with meals and snacks provided by parents being carefully monitored for allergens and dietary needs, and we foster a positive social environment during mealtimes.

In Pre-K, rest is still important, and we provide a calm, quiet space for children to relax and recharge during the day. The routine of naptime or quiet time is maintained, with the comfort of familiar bedding brought from home, helping to ensure that each child feels secure and well-rested. This holistic approach to health and safety supports the physical and emotional well-being of our pre-kindergarteners, preparing them for the transition to kindergarten.
